Are you two ready?" cries the Captain. "The Master seems to be approaching."

"I'm ready to fight, Captain!" replies Chen. She aims her crossbow forward, her fingers itching to press the trigger.

"Yes, sir!" says Vincent. He tightens his grip on his weapon.

Suddenly, they feel a foreign presence approaching. This isn't anything like they felt earlier. He can feel the Master's power permeating through the thick fog. This creature is strong, he knows this. A glance at the others confirms his suspicion. The Captain's face is calm, but she is gripping her blades more tightly than normal. Chen's legs are shaking slightly.

A humanoid figure walks through the fog. He blinks in surprise as the Master comes in view.

"Expecting a monster?" says the Master. "Or perhaps some primal evil that was released from hell?"

A girl who looks barely older than the captain stands before them. She is wearing a green and white dress, and she has long silver-green hair. Two horns protrude from her head, with a red ribbon tied upon one of them. Her crimson eyes are shining with intelligence, wisdom, and a deep, unexplainable sadness.

"You are the cause of this incident?" asks the Captain.

"That is the truth," she replies.

The Master turns to look up to the full moon. It shine brightly down on the battlefield.

"I will not ask for mercy or forgiveness," she says. "I deserve neither."

She glances back toward them.

"I only ask that you hear my story before this ends," she says.

"Your story?" the Captain repeats. "And what makes you think that will matter?"

Chen stamps her foot on the ground.

"Y-you killed my friends! You don't deserve any last requests!" she cries out.

Vincent pauses.

[ ] "You can tell your story in hell, you demon!"
